Transparency & Communication
I am committed to transparency and communication as a candidate vying to represent District 1 to the Davis School Board.
What does that mean?
In my experience communicating and working with legislators, USBE members, Bountiful, NSL and Woods Cross City Council members, and our DSD board, I am grateful for those representatives who are willing to communicate and share their thoughts and priorities. They have been wonderful examples to me of how to truly represent their constituents.
As a Davis School District board member, my job would be to represent my district in the decisions and votes we make as a board. To that end, if I want to represent my district, it is critical that I communicate with my constituents beforehand, and report back after the fact.
True transparency is when you know my votes on each decision WITHOUT having to scour the website for hours trying to find it. True transparency is when you communicate with me before AND after I make those decisions. True transparency is when you are well-informed of what is happening in our district and I convey that information for you.
I believe that every member of the DSD Board would benefit from better communication with their constituents. I plan to lead by example and involve YOU more in the decisions and votes that affect your children and their public education experience.
