Melanie Mortensen is a mother, wife, educator, community council member, education proponent and strong advocate for ensuring a quality education and a prosperous future for our children and grandchildren. Melanie's professional and personal experiences in the classroom, speaking in front of school boards as a parent, and experience serving on curriculum selection committees have uniquely prepared her to understand parental, teacher, and administrative issues. Melanie has spent the past two years working with legislators and USBE members to help improve education policy. Melanie has a composite Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education, Humanities and English from Brigham Young University. She and her husband, David, have four children and live in Davis County.
